How many capabilities sit on a single critical delivery path. High concentration means one delay cascades everywhere.
Capabilities that have no redundancy or fallback. If this capability goes down or its team is unavailable, dependent workflows halt entirely.
Number and complexity of handoffs between teams required for capability delivery. Includes API contracts, shared data models, and coordinated releases.
Reliance on third-party vendors, SaaS platforms, open-source projects, or partner APIs that are outside your direct control.

Known gaps where required capabilities do not yet exist or are significantly under-invested. Includes skills, tooling, and infrastructure shortfalls.
Spread between the most and least mature capabilities in the portfolio. High variance creates bottlenecks where mature capabilities wait on immature ones.
How far a change in one capability ripples across others. High propagation means even small updates require broad coordination and regression testing.
