From the Human Capital Management (HCM) Buyer's Guide, updated June 2026. 9 vendors evaluated.
Rippling
The employee record as the source of truth for HR, IT, and finance is a genuinely different design: joiner, mover, and leaver automate across all three, including device and app provisioning, with fast US payroll, broad global hiring and payroll reach, and a flexible workflow and automation layer that suits fast-scaling, tech-forward companies. It is younger and lighter than the incumbents on deep talent management and the most complex global localizations, and some global capability relies on partners and EOR. Rippling is also the plaintiff in a high-profile corporate-espionage lawsuit against Deel filed in 2025 — a vendor-diligence and stability consideration to weigh, not a product verdict.
BambooHR
Deliberately not an enterprise HCM, and honest about it: a focused, easy-to-adopt suite covering core HR, hiring, onboarding, time off, performance, and US payroll with federal, state, and local tax filing, fast to stand up, well-liked by HR generalists, with an open API and marketplace to integrate best-of-breed where depth is needed. Payroll is US-centric, talent and analytics are lighter than the suite vendors, complex or international payroll needs a third party, and organizations scaling past a few hundred employees often outgrow it.
