Value Streams
AI Management Value Streams: AI-Ready Edition
12 AI management value streams in 60 stages, each shown today and AI-native, with its target AI mode and human checkpoint
What this value stream set is for
These value streams show how one function's work runs from the trigger to the result, stage by stage, as it runs today and as it could run with AI. Each stage names the target AI mode, the agents involved and the checkpoint that stays with a person.
Teams use them to decide where AI goes in the work, to plan process redesign stage by stage, and to tie each stage to the capabilities that enable it.
About These Value Streams
The AI Management Value Streams: AI-Ready Edition is for CIOs, architects and transformation leads who need to see how AI management work runs from trigger to value, and where AI belongs in it. It covers 12 value streams in 60 stages. Each stage is shown as it runs today and as it could run with AI, with the target AI mode, the agents involved and the human checkpoint that stays with a person. It is the value-stream part of Business Architecture for AI Management: AI Transformation Blueprint, sold on its own.
What's Inside
The same 12 value streams come in three files: a deck to present, a workbook to work in and a guide to read. The workbook holds every field; the deck shows each stage as it runs today and AI-native, with its AI mode and human checkpoint.
- 12 AI management value streams and their 60 stages, each with its steps, stakeholders, entry and exit criteria, and the capabilities that enable it
- For every stage: today's pain points, the AI-native future state, the agents involved, the target AI mode, the human checkpoint and KPIs
- 21 standard AI management value streams with their steps, as a reference process view
- The Value Streams deck (PowerPoint): every value stream as a flow, then stage by stage
- The workbook (Excel): the value streams and every stage, in sheets you can filter and extend
- The guide (Word): the scales used at each stage (AI mode, human oversight, risk tier and work pattern), every value stream in prose, and the license
- Free corrections, and new versions free for 180 days
Every file names your organization and carries your license ID.
The 12 Value Streams
Each value stream runs from a trigger to the value it delivers. The list gives that value and the number of stages.
- AI Ambition to Funded AI Portfolio (5 stages): An enterprise AI portfolio funded against the organization's strategy and its readiness, balanced across functions, risk tiers and horizons, and reported to leadership and the board in measures they can follow.
- AI Idea to Approved Use Case (5 stages): One predictable route from an idea to a decision, with every use case recorded, tiered by one method, assessed for its effect on people and the business, and decided by the person the decision rights name.
- Approved Use Case to Model in Production (5 stages): A model that does what its process needs, built on accepted data, tested, independently validated where its tier requires and released by a person other than its builder, with monitoring and a fallback in place from the first day.
- Model Need to Sourced and Adapted Model (5 stages): Purchased and adapted models chosen by the sourcing approach, assessed against the requirements and tier, adapted on approved data and knowledge, safeguarded, and accepted under the same standard as models built in house.
- Agent Concept to Agent in Operation (5 stages): Agents that do the work they were designed for under their own identity, within written authority limits, with a named human owner, a registry entry and a tested way to stop them.
- Agent Work Request to Completed Outcome (5 stages): Work completed by agents within their written limits, with every decision that belongs to a person reaching one in time, every action recorded, and failures, conflicts and costs found and acted on.
- Model in Production to Retired Model (5 stages): Models that keep working as their process needs: monitored to their tier's standard, changed only under control, recoverable, efficient, and retired without harming the processes that depend on them.
- AI Incident Detected to Lessons Applied (5 stages): AI incidents contained quickly by the people entitled to act, investigated from the activity record, the people affected put right, outside disclosure decided by the accountable people, and the lesson applied across functions.
- AI-Informed Decision to Explained and Corrected Outcome (5 stages): People told when AI informs a decision about them, able to understand it, have a person review it and see it corrected when it was wrong, with faults fixed at their source.
- AI Provider Need to Assured Provider (5 stages): AI providers recommended on AI grounds, contracted under AI-specific terms, reviewed against their commitments, their model changes assessed before they take effect, and every provider replaceable.
- AI Skills Need to Capable Workforce (5 stages): A workforce that understands AI and follows the rules for using it, practitioners accredited for their AI roles, and an operating model adjusted as the portfolio grows.
- AI Standard Set to Assured Practice (5 stages): One clear method every function applies to its own AI decisions, rules embedded in the work, evidence that every function follows them, and decisions that cross functions resolved by the person entitled to decide.
Who Uses It
Process owners and the teams who redesign AI management work, transformation leads who need a future-state process view to plan from, and business architects who map value streams to capabilities.
How It Fits With the Other Products
Each stage names the capabilities that enable it; they are defined in the AI Management Capability Model: AI-Ready Edition. The agents each stage involves are specified in Business Architecture for AI Management: AI Transformation Blueprint, which also holds the business data model, use cases, controls, an operating model and a roadmap. The AI Management Business Data Model is sold on its own too.
Target AI modes describe a typical large enterprise and are a starting point for your own.
