From the Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCaaS) Buyer's Guide, updated June 2026. 8 vendors evaluated.

8x8

A genuinely single-vendor UCaaS, CCaaS, and CPaaS stack marketed as XCaaS, with a financially-backed platform-wide 99.999% SLA spanning both UC and contact center, plus strong international PSTN reach, unlimited calling to many countries, and embeddable communications APIs for in-app voice, video, and messaging. The brand and ecosystem are smaller than the suite vendors’, the product breadth can outrun what a UC-only buyer needs, and the multi-year migration of acquired Fuze customers onto the unified platform has been a roadmap item to track.

RingCentral

Voice-first buyers shortlist it because the cloud-PBX and global-PSTN depth is among the deepest available: RingEX carries broad international number coverage and porting, a tightly integrated RingCX contact center plus a lightweight contact-center bundle for queues and shared inboxes, an open developer platform with wide CRM and app integrations, and RingSense AI across calls and meetings. Document collaboration and persistent chat are thinner than Teams or Google, so it complements rather than replaces a productivity suite. The meeting experience is solid but not the reason buyers choose it, and brand recognition trails Microsoft and Zoom in the enterprise.
