This unpredictability can pose significant risks, particularly in high-stakes environments. To counter this risk, businesses should maintain robust backup systems and manual overrides and ensure their workforce retains essential skills and knowledge.
  • Skills Gap: The rapid advancement of AI technologies can quickly render existing skills obsolete, leaving organizations struggling to keep up. To mitigate this risk, organizations should invest in continuous training and development for their staff and consider partnerships with academic institutions or specialized AI companies.
  • Sustainability: Training AI models, especially large ones, can have a significant environmental impact due to their high energy consumption. This can lead to negative publicity and stakeholder backlash. To counter this, organizations can seek to use more energy-efficient AI models, use cloud providers with renewable energy policies, and contribute to research in reducing the energy consumption of AI training.
