How the Data Governance Maturity Model works
The assessment has 15 questions across 5 domains, with 3 questions each. The domains are Strategy and Governance, Data Quality, Data Catalog and Lineage, Privacy and Compliance, and Data Architecture.
Each question has 4 answer options, scored Level 0 to Level 3. Questions cover topics such as the governance council, data ownership, quality monitoring, data lineage, classification, consent management, retention, master data management and data platform maturity.
Each domain score is the average of the answered questions in that domain. A domain with no answers scores 0. The overall score is the average of the 5 domain scores. The tool converts scores to a 0 to 100 scale by multiplying by 33.3. You can view results once you answer at least 8 of the 15 questions.
