Domo

An all-in-one platform that hands a smaller team the whole stack — integration, transformation, dashboards, and data apps — without assembling one, with broad prebuilt connectors and consumption-based credit pricing that decouples cost from seat count, so distributing read-only access widely is inexpensive; Domo.AI layers on agents and conversational analytics. That credit model is also the risk: bills get unpredictable without active governance, and the controls have been a noted gap. Being self-contained costs you the warehouse-native, bring-your-own-semantic-layer flexibility larger data teams now want, and the enterprise footprint is smaller than the major platforms’.

Qlik

The associative engine is the reason to shortlist Qlik: it surfaces related and unrelated data alike, opening discovery paths other tools simply hide. Owning Talend puts integration, quality, and governance under the same roof, Qlik Answers adds explainable generative and agentic analytics, MCP opens the platform to third-party assistants, and deployment spans multi-cloud and on-prem. Weigh that against Thoma Bravo majority ownership with an ADIA minority stake, which keeps a profitability lens on R&D pace; mindshare smaller than the top suites; an associative model and scripting that are a different paradigm to learn; and packaging across analytics and integration that takes care to scope.
