About kube-vip

kube-vip provides Kubernetes clusters with a virtual IP and load balancer for the control plane and for Kubernetes Services of type LoadBalancer. It operates without relying on external hardware or software. In BGP mode it ensures new addresses are advertised to the routing infrastructure for networks that rely on layer 3 routing. In WireGuard mode it allows Kubernetes services to be advertised over the wireguard interface.

ARP mode: Uses a layer 2 protocol with gratuitous ARP broadcast to inform the network of IP-to-MAC pairings.
