About Micrometer
Micrometer provides a facade for the most popular observability systems, allowing instrumentation of JVM-based application code without vendor lock-in. It is described as comparable to SLF4J, but for observability. Micrometer integrates with application frameworks using their native idioms and configuration models. Out-of-the-box instrumentation is available in micrometer-core and in libraries. Micrometer can publish observability data directly to most backends. It provides vendor-neutral abstractions for timers, gauges, counters, distribution summaries, and long task timers with a dimensional data model.
