Dalec is a Docker Buildkit frontend that translates declarative YAML specifications into build instructions. It functions as a compiler that takes package configuration and produces packages and containers across multiple Linux distributions and Windows. It allows writing a build once for multiple targets such as Debian, Ubuntu, Azure Linux, and Rocky Linux. It includes built-in support for SBOMs, provenance attestations, and package signing.
